Our second port of call brought us to the beautiful and historic city of Kotor, Montenegro. Having visited Kotor’s charming city center on a previous journey, we decided to explore the picturesque villages and stunning beaches surrounding this coastal gem.
Our day began with a short drive to Budva, a vibrant town known for its medieval old town, sandy beaches, and lively atmosphere. Walking through the narrow streets of Budva’s old town, we were captivated by its ancient architecture and the stunning views of the Adriatic Sea. The blend of history and modernity in Budva was truly enchanting.
Next, we made our way to Jaz Beach, one of Montenegro’s most famous beaches. The crystal-clear waters and golden sands made for a perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. Jaz Beach is also known for hosting music festivals, and the vibrant energy of the place was palpable even in the serene early hours of the day.
Our journey continued to Brajići, a quaint village perched on a hill offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. The peaceful ambiance of Brajići, coupled with its breathtaking vistas, provided a wonderful contrast to the bustling coastal areas. It was a perfect place to reflect and appreciate the natural beauty of Montenegro.
In the afternoon, we returned to Kotor for a leisurely walk. The city’s medieval architecture, winding streets, and fortified walls never fail to impress. Strolling through Kotor’s old town, we revisited some of our favorite spots, enjoying the vibrant street life and the charming cafes.
The highlight of our day was the evening, where we dined at the Pinnacle Grill on board the Oosterdam. The Pinnacle Grill is known for its exquisite cuisine and exceptional service. Our dinner was a delightful culinary experience, with each dish prepared to perfection, making it a fitting end to a day filled with exploration and adventure.
Our time in Montenegro, from the serene villages to the lively beaches and the historic charm of Kotor, was a blend of relaxation and discovery. As we sailed away from Kotor, we carried with us the memories of a day well spent in one of the most beautiful corners of the Adriatic.

Tales of time's passage, in stones retold.
Jaz Beach beckoned, with sands of gold,
Where the sea's gentle kiss made our spirits bold.
Waves danced lightly, under the sun's gaze,
In that tranquil moment, we lost count of days.
Brajići awaited, perched high and serene,
A village that gazed on landscapes unseen.
The hush of the hills, the breath of the air,
A stillness that invited our souls to repair.
Back to Kotor, as the afternoon waned,
Through medieval pathways, history retained.
Cobblestone stories, arches that soar,
In Kotor's embrace, we found evermore.
Evening descended with a culinary delight,
At Pinnacle Grill, under the soft light.
Each dish a marvel, a feast to the core,
A perfect finale to the day we adored.
From dawn till dusk, Montenegro's charms,
Cradled our hearts, with gentle arms.
As Oosterdam sailed, 'neath the starry dome,
We knew in our hearts, we'd found a new home.
