As we bid farewell to the luxurious Nieuw Amsterdam, the final day of our Holland America Line cruise was a bittersweet culmination of an unforgettable adventure. Our voyage had taken us to a plethora of captivating destinations, creating cherished memories at every port of call.
Our journey began in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, setting the tone for a remarkable cruise. From the picturesque beaches of Fort Lauderdale to the rhythmic vibes of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and the crystal-clear waters of Georgetown, Cayman Islands, each destination offered a unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.
Cozumel, Mexico, welcomed us with its vibrant colors and rich heritage, while Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands provided a tranquil escape. The historic charm of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the tropical paradise of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., left an indelible mark on our hearts. Half Moon Cay, Bahamas, with its pristine beaches, served as a fitting finale to our Caribbean escapade.
As we reluctantly disembarked, we whispered to the Caribbean, “This is not a goodbye; it’s a see you later.” Anticipation filled our hearts as we eagerly awaited our next adventure, scheduled for December 16, 2018. The itinerary promised another round of enchanting destinations, including the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Dominican Republic, Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, Sint Maarten, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
Our wanderlust extended beyond the Caribbean, with plans to explore the North Cape in the summer and return to the captivating Caribbean during the winter holidays. The prospect of new horizons and undiscovered treasures fueled our excitement for the journeys that lay ahead.
As we reconnected with the familiar comforts of home, a small token awaited our beloved furry friend, Sasha. A thoughtful gift from our travels, a reminder that even in our absence, our hearts were always with those we held dear.
And so, with a playful “Ándale ándale arriba arriba” echoing the lively spirit of Mexico, we concluded our cruise, knowing that the memories forged would forever anchor us to the enchanting seas and the promise of future adventures on the horizon.

As we bid adieu, with hearts alight, To Sasha, our faithful friend, a token dear, Our souls, ignited by wanderlust's might, Eagerly await adventures yet to appear. In December's embrace, we'll sail anew, Through Caribbean isles, and beyond, With horizons vast, and skies of blue, In search of treasures, forever fond.
